A myth! Perfumes tend to be evaporated faster from dry skin. Hence, it is advisable to use a body lotion or some cream to make it last longer. However, it shouldn’t have a contrasting scent of its own. People often recommend using either petroleum jelly or jojoba oil.

#2. Same Perfume is Supposed to Make Everyone Smell the Same

There cannot be a more frustrating myth bout perfumes this one. How a perfume smells on someone depends on a lot of factors and is highly subjective. That is the reason why it is an art. Many people don’t notice that the same perfume smells different on different people.

This is because every person has their own smell that is not easily recognizable (some animals do). Your hormones, type of skin, and what you eat; all of this affects how a scent will become on you. And that is why it is often so difficult to choose the perfect perfume.

#3. Spraying the Perfume in the Air and Walking Through It Makes the Scent Last Longer

Simply put, this is a big fat lie! It is such a lie because you shouldn’t even be spraying your expensive perfume randomly on your body, let alone spritzing it in the open air. Perfumes last longer when they interact with your body heat. There are actual pulse points where it is best to apply perfumes to get the most of your beloved scent.

#4. Rubbing It on Your Wrists Makes it Last Longer

It is high time that this myth is busted becue it actually does the complete opposite of what it states.It was also shown in an advert for Calvin Klein cologne for men and many other such creatives which only makes it all the more believable. Rubbing the perfume to your skin actually degenerates it due to all the rubbing and also her generated n the process. It breaks up the molecules and in fact, results in making it fade away even quicker!

#5. Refrigerating Is the Best Way to Store Your Perfume

There is a myth that storing your perfume in a refrigerator will keep it from evaporating or changing its smell. This is completely false. In fact, it can actually do more harm than good. The sudden temperature change can cause your perfume to break and lose its scent entirely. Refrigerators are also full of odors that can soak into your fragrances, and they can cause them to smell funny or even destroy the scent entirely.
